The design

The fun stuff! We love to create unique and fully bespoke cakes for our clients! While we don’t copy designs exactly we do ask that you send us a mood board from Pinterest so that we can get a feel for your style and ideas.

We also have a range of examples and inspiration on Instagram and our own Pinterest moodboard @farmhousebakery.ie

During our email consultations we request that you send us your colour palette and any important details about your wedding From there we will create a bespoke sketch for you to approve.

The Flowers

Flowers are a beautiful way to elevate your cake design.

We recommend that you ask your florist to leave us a bouquet of flowers at the venue so that we can add them to the cake during set up. This is included in your setup fee.

We can also source silk, fresh or dried flowers for your cake at an additional fee.

Some Key Details

It it’s important to note that we require a deposit of €70 for orders under €400 or €150 for orders over €400. Until the deposit is paid your date is not secure. We do not provide any consultation or sketches prior to your booking deposit.

What we need to know:

  • Your budget - it is important that we know your cake budget, this helps us guide you on design and cake sizes.
  • Cake servings - as a guide, we request that you confirm your cake size with us at the time of booking. This allows us to allocate a sufficient amount of time for your cake during delivery and set up. We like to take care when setting up your cake and make it picture perfect.
  • Design preferences - Colours, themes, design choices you love. Please let us know any elements you’d like to include in your cake
  • Arrival time - We request that you let us know if the ceremony is at the venue, in this case we will deliver the wedding cake during the room changeover. This prevents anyone having to move your cake. If your wedding ceremony is not in the venue we will deliver your cake between 11am and 1pm.
  • Allergies - We do not offer gluten free or dairy free cakes. While most of our cakes are made without nuts, please note that our bakery is not a nut free environment and request that those with nut allergies are not to consume our bakes.

Tastings

Not sure what flavours to choose? We offer postal box tastings of 6 small samples regularly thoughout the year. Available for delivery across the Republic of Ireland. Simply keep an eye on our social media for updates in when the next round is announced.

A small portion of your tasting box cost is taken from your final cake bill.

Dessert Tables

You don’t need a huge cake to make a statement! We offer beautifully curated dessert spreads to complement your wedding cake and reflect your personal style.

Our menu changes seasonally, just let us know if you’d like to include a dessert table and we will forward our menu and serving options.

Deliveries

All tiered cakes must be delivered as we know how to do it safely and properly. Most cakes are delivered in seperate tiere and we assemble on site.

Delivery and setup fees apply depending on your venue location, table styling, and whether we are assembling a dessert table. You are provided a provisional quote at the time of booking.

For Clare Island weddings we deliver to Roonagh Pier and hand the cake to your nominated person. Your cake may come assembled or as seperate tiers depending on size. Responsibility transfers upon handover.
